The original SWIFT electro-mechanical microscope slide stepper has been one of the
 most reliable pieces of equipment in use by Petrographers and Geologists the world
 over. In the 40 years of its production, thousands have been sold, but due to a
 reduced demand over a number of years, production had been on a steady decline.
 Production ultimately stopped after the death of Mr. James Swift, who manufactured
 them at home - on machine tools from the former Swift factory.

 We are pleased to announce that the newly developed MicroStepper Mk2
 based on the same general principles as the original SWIFT stage, but digitally
 controlled by software, more rubust, more accurate, and with many more
 functions, has been introduced and is now available to our clients world-wide.

The following pages describe PETROG and its MicroStepper Mk2 attachment stage, as well as the simplified version - PETROG Lite - which can easily be upgraded to the full PETROG version, complete with an integrated digital imaging system. Please note that due a lack uo up-to-date images of the MicroStepper Mk2 stage, we are still showing some images of the previous model [Mk1] on a few pages.
